Report on legume markets in the EU

This report presents a focus on the market analysis of legumes in the EU. In this report, current and historical data obtained from different statistical databases are used for a basic quantitative description of EU‐legume markets. Indicators used include cultivated areas, yields, production volumes, domestic consumption, imports and exports. Expert knowledge is employed to qualify these data, in order to explain the differences in production volume, use of products and customer preference. Some Factors that influence the legume market are collected and some recommendations to ensure sustainable legume markets in the EU are made at the end of this report.
