Dr. Bilal Zulfiqar, University of Perugia, Italy. With a prolific record in high-impact journals, his research program is dedicated to developing innovative methods for sustainable cultivation, focusing on enhancing the climate resilience of staple crops like wheat and legumes. His work encompasses the integrated application of nanoparticles (silicon, copper, zinc) and organic amendments like biochar to improve soil health, water use efficiency, and plant drought tolerance; field experimentation, physiological phenotyping, and biochemical analysis are central to his methodology. Currently, his research extends to applying Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to legume-based cropping systems to quantify ecosystem services, environmental impacts, and sustainability benefits. An active peer reviewer for leading journals, he has extensive international collaborative experience with researchers from China, Italy, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Australia, and Lithuania.
